Spring Surprise Success

Over the Easter weekend we delivered our Spring Surprise to 450 families, isolated and vulnerable individuals across the Calder Valley. We had over 850 eggs donated to us by Bam Nuttall which gave us plenty for our families, and we had over 300 handcrafted items made by our local community so each person received a personal gift, as well as a handmade Easter Card from the children of our local schools.

Each family received an Easter Egg for every child and baking supplies like cornflakes, cooking chocolate and Mini Eggs so that families could make treats for Easter together. Our older and vulnerable individuals received special Easter gifts including a fleece, some chocolate and handmade brooch donated by Hope Baptist Church. Any surplus eggs have been used in smaller events throughout the Valley, including the Scouts, as well as an Easter Egg Hunt run by the fantastic Rosion in Todmorden.

The event was brilliantly organised by Bernice and the wonderful Calder Community Cares volunteers did a fantastic job packing, distributing and bringing smiles to many faces. A huge thank you to all involved for making this special event such a success.
