The cost of living crisis is affecting many people throughout the UK, and in the Calder Valley there are a number of organisations who can help. We’ve gathered all the resources available to you so that you can find what you need. Below, you will find links to guides, funding, support and more that will help you manage your cost of living.

Calderdale Council

Money & wellbeing in Calderdale
Calderdale Council have a large guide to helping with a range of money-related problems.
Household Support Fund
Certain benefit recipients may be eligible for additional payments under the Household Support Fund. To check if you can apply for anything click here.
Food support
Calderdale Council have a large list of food support resources (some of which will be included on our map) such as food banks, community meals and affordable food schemes.
Are you claiming your Pension Credit?
Figures suggest that a third of eligible residents might not be getting the benefits they are entitled to. If you are of pension age check you eligibility here.

National government

The government's main cost of living page should be your first place to check if you are entitled to any extra help.
Cost of living payment
If you are in receipt of eligible benefits you should automatically be receiving the cost of living payment. If you think you may be eligible there is more information here.
Winter Fuel Payment
If you were born before 26 September 1956 you could get between £250 and £600 to help you pay your heating bills. Check if you are eligible here.
Warm Home Discount Scheme
You could get £150 off your electricity bill for winter 2022 to 2023 under the Warm Home Discount Scheme. This is separate to and on top of the Winter Fuel scheme. More information here.
