Over the Easter Bank Holiday over 300 bright green Easter Surprise bags could be seen on the streets of Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd. Each Surprise Bag contained a stunning bunch of bright yellow daffodils, supplied by Fleur De Lys, a luxury Easter Egg, both sponsored by Bam Nuttall, and a hand-made Easter card beautifully crafted by the children of Riverside School, Colden School and Scout Road School.

Going forward, we have supplied Picnic in a Bag which provided all the essentials for a picnic, including utensils, a blanket and food from our FoodShare project, and supported Happy Valley Pride’s Pink Pride Picnic by providing once again the blankets and picnic utensils free to anyone who needed them. In the future we aim to create a similar project for the Christmas season with Christmas in a Box aimed at families with children and Christmas in a Bag for our older generation Community Friends.

It is our privilege to provide for those who need it in the Upper Calder Valley, and we look forward to many more similar projects.
