Calder Community Cares offers a listening phone wellbeing service, which provides emotional support to those in isolation. Our experienced volunteers ring our Community Friends regularly. You control how often we call, and you have the opportunity to build a relationship with someone you can trust.
These are difficult and unusual times, and you may find that speaking to someone over the phone helps you to deal with your feelings, thoughts and anxieties. Or you may just enjoy a chat with someone who cares about what you are saying. We can offer what matters to you.
The Wellbeing Team is made up of very experienced people who can not only offer you support but signpost you to other support teams, groups and organisations if you feel it would help you. The team has relationships with groups and individuals such as Healthy Minds Calderdale, Bereavement Specialists and Staying Well. Referral is always discussed and agreed with you, never done to you. All our team members are experienced in safeguarding of adults, confidentiality, and emotional wellbeing.
In addition our team of volunteers delivering food, books and other forms of support are always ready for a distanced chat or phone buddying. It’s what you want that matters to us.
If you think this support would be of help to you, please register as a Community Friend and someone will give you a ring.
