Volunteer Role: Wellbeing Lead

Reporting to: Volunteer and Projects Coordinator

Timing: The commitment to a minimum of 6 hours per week.

General Requirements:

  • Upholding the CCC ethos and objects:
    · The advancement of citizenship and community development by developing a community volunteering organisation that offers support to all who need it.
    · The prevention and relief of poverty by establishing a wide range of activities and volunteer services that provide support and relief.
  • An understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • An understanding of safeguarding in this context, of general risk assessment and the need for policies and protocols.
  • High levels of self-motivation and the ability to take personal responsibility for making things happen.
  • The ability to inspire others, and to work with and in diverse teams.
  • The ability to show adaptability and flexibility and to work within existing systems and processes.
  • The ability to empathise, listen and compromise.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic IT competence with a willingness to use simple data systems (with training if necessary).
  • Resident local to the Upper Calder Valley.

Role purpose

To work alongside the Volunteer and Projects Coordinator and take a key role in coordinating the support of our Community Friends (those who register with us for support).

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Initial contact with those who register for support, including welcome conversations and setting up accurate database records.
  • Initial assessment of needs and interests, and allocation to CCC Services and Projects.
  • Coordination of our Community Friends Concerns process when volunteers report they are worried about a Community Friend, including using wider networks and support agencies where necessary.
  • Oversight of the Wellbeing Champion and the Wellbeing Team (our volunteers who make regular “befriending” phone calls to Community Friends).

This role will be subject to DBS clearance (CCC will facilitate this).


Volunteer Role: Volunteer Champion

Reporting to: Volunteer and Projects Coordinator

Role purpose

To work alongside the Volunteer and Projects Coordinator and take a key role in coordinating the work of our volunteers.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Volunteer Recruitment.
  • Volunteer Registration, including welcome communications, sharing policies and protocols, and setting up accurate database records.
  • Volunteer guidance, training and wellbeing.
  • Volunteer deployment – in collaboration with Project Leads and other CCC Managers.

This role will be subject to DBS clearance (CCC will facilitate this).


Volunteer Role: Projects Lead

Reporting to: Volunteer and Projects Coordinator

Timing: The commitment to a minimum of 4 hours per week.

Role purpose

To work alongside the Volunteer and Projects Coordinator and take a key role in coordinating key projects, events and services.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Plan and run a variety of projects and events.
  • Support other Project Leaders in the planning and running of projects and events.
  • Take a role in setting up and/or checking risk assessments for events.
  • Develop new projects and contribute to our Yearly Planning document.

This role will be subject to DBS clearance (CCC will facilitate this).


Volunteer Role: Communications Lead

Reporting to: Services Lead (Janet Lymer)

Timing: The commitment to a minimum of 4 hours per week.

projects, events and services.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • CCC Website layout and content.
  • CCC Publicity and communication using Social Media platforms.
  • Press releases for events.
  • Setting up good communication networks with similar groups.

Volunteer Role: Little Box Libraries Lead

Reporting to: Services Lead (Janet Lymer)

Timing: The commitment to a minimum of 4 hours per week.

To work alongside the Services Lead, and take a key role in the CCC Little Box Libraries scheme.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Oversee our Little Libraries boxes and content.
  • Encourage CCC Volunteers and Community Friends to take responsibility for the boxes in their area.
  • Publicise the scheme and encourage wide use of the Little Box Libraries in each area.
