Food share & drop in

Since July 2020, Calder Community Cares has been supporting people in the Upper Calder Valley area by distributing food parcels.

Working alongside fantastic partners such as the Co-Op, our team of volunteers has taken food close to the expiration date and hand-delivered to those who were deemed most vulnerable during the pandemic. The Food Share project not only supported those who were at the most risk of COVID but prevented food waste. At our busiest point, our volunteers were distributing food parcels to 140 households per week.

With the support of local businesses, we have been able to set up a community kitchen where our team can store and pack food to the highest hygiene standards.

Get Support

We will continue our existing work to support those who are highly vulnerable, very isolated, and in the highest category of need in the Hebden Royd and Todmorden areas. Most of our referrals for support come from individual registrations and statutory organisations, such as Todmorden Job Centre, Social Services and Calderdale Council Vulnerable Customer Support Team.

If you need our support and choose to register with us, you will be also treated with the utmost respect, compassion, and kindness.

You will be treated kindly and with compassion, and for details of location, opening hours and how each one is operated follow the links below.
